	What a fabulous birding holiday we've had. 85 species of birds ... tumbling bald eagles, nesting osprey, warblers from blue to yellow, more bluebirds than we've seen in 10 years, owls that answered our call, an American bittern that fell in love with Mark ... and of course, a lovely family of loons – mom, dad and a sweet little chick.
		The loons still enthrall us. They are beautiful. I'm so happy to see them again each year, having survived another year of man's intrusion. Meeting new friends, relaxed atmosphere ... a very therapeutic weekend for me! We appreciated the trip to call in the owls and having the telescope focused in on the loons. We are not real serious "birders," we do it for the pleasure it gives us. Well, I gave this Mother's Day gift to my wife — Birding at NettieBay. She loves birds ... I just followed around. SURPRISE!! I think I really like looking close up at the birds. We saw lots and lots of very colorful birds ... what a sight! You know I may just come back again! I enjoyed every aspect of the weekend!
