NettieBay receives Michigan Audubon Society Award for Birding |

NettieBay Lodge has
received the Michigan Audubon Society Small Business Award for its efforts in cultivating
public birding opportunities and its dedicated efforts to preserve and monitor the bird
population. This award was presented to lodge owners Mark and Jackie Schuler on April 9,
1995 at the Michigan Annual Awards Banquet in Kalamazoo, Michigan. |

Of specific
recognition, NettieBay Lodge was commended for its educational programs and events
including the NettieBay School of Birding. This school is an intensive short course in
bird identification including formal instruction and extensive field work. Also recognized
were the lodges specific public events including the spring and fall migration
census as well as the June Bird-a-thon where the lodge donates a dollar to the Michigan
Audubon Society for each species documented. |
